Itinerary across the island

The best way to have visited the island’s best highlights is to use the Jeju Olle Trail. There are 26 different routes of this passage on the island. Of course, you don’t have to visit every path on this route once; Route 07, which runs directly along the coast, is particularly recommended. To visit a ni-ce little restaurant right next to the beach, the Olle Trail is the best option.

The Hallasan Mountain

The largest mountain in South Korea is located in the middle of the island. It protrudes from the ground almost two kilometers above the sea. From the top you have an impressive and spectacular view of a large part of the island. It is not for nothing that the area with its caves has been a World Heritage Site since 2007. Arrived at the summit of the Hallasan Mountain, the next highlight awaits: the beautiful crater lake called Baeknokdam. The ascent to the summit takes about four hours. The effort is fully rewarded on every skin.

Forest, beach and water

But there is more than one mountain to discover on the island. Probably the most beautiful forest in South Korea is the Bijarim. Almost 3,000 mysterious trees stand here that have lingered here for over half a millennium. The most famous was once struck by lightning and is now a tourist attraction. Hiking through this great forest takes between 50 and 80 minutes. If you want to visit a fantastic natural landscape, you should have hiked the Saryeoni Forest Trail, which is still relatively unknown even to Koreans.
Of course, the beach cannot be missing on an island. There are enough of them on Jeju. One of the most beautiful of them is Hamdeok Beach, which is also popular with families with children due to the low water level. The water on the beach looks crystal clear and offers the tourists a breathtaking view and invites you to relax or go for a swim.
Many people say that the Cheonjiyeon Waterfall connects the land with the sky. The water is so pure and white and also the thundering sound brings people to it. One thing is certain: it will be an unforgettable memory when you visit this waterfall. Another great and fascinating waterfall on the island is the Jeongbang waterfall. This is about 23 meters high and does not fall into a lake or river, but runs straight into the sea. If you are into adventure, you should visit the Manjanggul Cave. It is one of the longest lava tubes in the world and offers a unique and exciting experience. But of course it is much ni-cer to discover and marvel at all these places yourself than to just read a text about them. So, off to this wonderful and fantastic island with its unique natural landscape.
