Paper has shaped Düren and the entire region for over 400 years. It represents an important economic factor there and shapes the regional identity. The Düren Paper Museum was founded in 1990. Traditional-handicraft and modern-industrial paper production are the focus of the museum’s exhibition. The museum focuses on the facets of the special material “paper”.
Due to its history as the “city of the blind”, this museum also focuses on the offer for the visually impaired. Braille on its facade shows that this house is aimed at blind and visually impaired visitors. They can take an independent basic tour of the exhibition and also take advantage of information offers.
